RTFM
Try this:
1. press t
2. write /laps 57
Crikey, 57 lap race!
That takes 10 button presses. Damn! And I though I was being smart.
Wait a tick! It takes only 9 if you have an US-KB. I am smart
After a stall the ignition is ON but the engine isn't turning. So you need to turn it with the starter motor. You have to turn the key BACK to turn the ignition OFF before you can use the starter motor.
Most normal cars have had this double start prevention for several decades. It's there to prevent you engaging the starter motor while the engine is running.
Try it with your own car. Stall the engine and try to start it without turning the key back. If your car is working properly it shouldn't start. Only after you have turned the key back a notch or two will it be able to start again. Another test is to try and start the engine while it's already running. I don't recommend doing this as it can damage your starter/starter pinion/the teeth on your flywheel.
Seriously, I suggest you visit the Barry Boys site and tell them about your meshing and Veil Side kits...
Your argument is that the mesh would "look good". What's the point in that? You are not going to notice it while you are racing. Or even in replays. The one place where it would be seen are screenshots. To them it's very easy to add it afterwards. So no real need for mesh in LfS.
You wouldn't drive through the little bloke. He is much too high. High as in elevation not drugs. Unless ofcourse we get racing trucks. And that's trucks as in lorries and not pick-ups.
Unfortunately the car would take much more of the dev's time than a simple lock add.
Or maybe not...
Take the XRT. Add the rear wing from the XRR but lock it in the 30 degree position. Add a huge tail pipe. And TADAH!!! You have the car for teh 1337 dr1f70rz!!!1!oneone elevenz!1!
PS. Didn't mean the single "you" but the plural "you" in my previous post.
As I'm a bit fuzzy with this aero stuff. Is it true that the lead car gets a boost too? This has something to do with the way the air flows between the cars. Less turbulence or was it less vacuumbehind the lead car.
So you are saying that trying to get better lap times is pointless?
Honestly, the selfishnes of some people in this thread is on an unbelievable level. The only reason I can see for the 45 argument is this thread is "Yes, because drifters would use it to go sideways on a straight".
Besides if you want to add really realistic setups (for the street cars) to the game, you would need to put in much more variety. There are only 4 tire manufacturers and only 4 tread patterns and only one wheel. So no chance to select different profile tyres. No chance to select different suspension manufacturers, neither for dampers nor for springs. The list goes on and on.
Before this thread I was always wondering why racers don't like drifters. Thank you for providing the reason.
Where is the fire?
Why are some people so keen on getting a game full of bugs and errors?
I think the reason why ScaViEr is kept small is that they want to make a good sim. Not some halfarsed patchwork of a bug infested game.
Yes, if there were more people the patches might be more frequent. But there would be far more bugs and errors. Do you really want frequent bug fixes instead of the infrequent additions to the physics engine and new content?
One other positive effect of a small team is that it's easier to make schedules fit.
Look at Windows for an example. There were how many coders working on 98? How stable and bug free was it? How late was it?
Edit: Cloning isn't that fast and it's illegal to clone humans. So no Scawen MK2 in a while yet.
